Welcome to Kiros ALPHA stage!
With this new stage in development, we've completely revamped how in-game accounts work, and what information is required to register. We've touched briefly on this update in our coding diary, as well as our previous patch notes. Through the past few months, we've successfully revamped our account system and are ready to launch it!
What does the new system feature?
As Kiros is a 16+ game, we have added a few new security features to our registration system. All players will now need to submit a date of birth, valid email address, and security question along with their in-game account. These new features will not only help us ensure the safety of our community, but will also assist players in retrieving their account, in the event it gets lost, in the future. These requirements are non-negotiable. We have also refreshed how accounts are encrypted and processed by the server.
Why can I not login to my account?
With this update, we have removed all in-game user files to allow for the new account system to take effect. Without doing so, players with existing accounts would not be able to access the game. We have only removed user files, meaning your characters, items, levels and quests are all safe! Upon re-creating your username, you will be able to re access these features and play as you did before. If you encounter issues logging in, please contact our support team at support@kiros-mmorpg.com, as account related issues cannot be discussed via the Help Desk for confidentiality purposes.
What happens if I use a fake email or birthday?
In the event you use a fake email address or birthday, you run the risk of losing access to your account. These features are in place for security and retrieval purposes, and if you end up losing your account, or are suspended for any reason, we may be unable to verify your account or contact you regarding your suspension. We ask that you please use a valid email address and birthday so that you may retrieve your account in the event it is ever lost.
Someone took my username! Can I get it back?
If another player does steal your username, we ask that you please contact our Help Desk immediately. From there, if we find the case to be genuine, our support team will look into the issue further. Rest assured, username theft is not tolerated and will be handled accordingly.
